Tanabata Bon Dance

A small Bon dance party on the evening of Tanabata, hosted by Folk Dance Labo, a folk dance event planning group. Free of charge. No advance registration required. Please bring an uchiwa (Japanese fan) if you have one.
Bon Odori is a Japanese folk dance. We will enjoy dancing to Bon Odori songs from the Sendai area, such as "Tanabata Odori" with the well-known lyrics of "Kin Kira Kira Kira," together with the visitors.
Before dancing to any of the songs, we will explain the movements, so first-time dancers can join in without worry. Those who want to learn how to dance are also welcome. The venue is the lawn pathway of Sendai Ryokusaikan, which just opened in April. Sendai Tanabata Night Festival Yoiakari" is being held in the vicinity. Please enjoy both events.
